Shanghai Expo 2010

Shanghai_World_Expo

Sin Ting told me about Shanghai Expo last friday and asked me whether i am interested to go and pay a visit. Lol. That’s my reply. The furthest place I had ever been to in my entire life is only Sarawak , and the purpose of being there was just to participate in the CHINESE POEM RECITATION CoMPETITION. Money matters. No money no talk. So forget about it.

Later did I know, this most expensive World Fair in the history had more than 190 countries registered to participate. This is the largest World Expo and 70-100 million of people are expected to join the crowd!

Better City , Better Life – the theme of this World Expo. This great and meaningful theme is representing the common wish of the whole nation for a better living in future urban environments. Not only to blindly chase for materialism means, humankind needs to learn to live intelligently in this urban world.

Hey fellow Malaysians, let us be proud of our Malaysia Pavilion, one of the most traditional architectures being featured in the World Expo!

Haha… luckily they never built the pavilion like a mosque. As we all can see, it’s the traditional Minangkabau building , a creative and eye-catching building. Different cultures of Malaysia are showcased in it.

Another impressive building, the China Pavilion.

And a lot more….

Feel so glad and impressed upon seeing so many different pavilions , through youtube. Yet , sigh at my poverty that prohibited me from going to Shanghai to join the sea of people there.

Friends, this is a rare opportunity. If you are able to afford it, just go. It’s definitely worth it.
