A year has passed. Today my bro told me that they are going up to stage in conjunction with the coming Chinese new year. And it makes me recall back….
We shared moments of glory,
Where they became history.
Worth smiling,
When memories came lingering.
(Year 2010 Jan)
(Still Remember this?)
A day before the CNY celebration, I was chatting with few friends and suddenly an idea popped up from us. Hey since it’s our last year, let’s make it a wonderful one and have fun. Not everybody has the opportunity to perform on stage, let’s do it.
That particular night, I actually copied the lyrics and asked HS to download the song. So he sent to me and I burnt in into a compact disc. (that’s team work) xD
The next day everyone was so excited. Countdown to the performance. It left only 4 hours. So once we back to class we wanna start practising already but Pn Usha was in class and more terribly, she taught us English after giving us CNY Homework! (it’s the oral assignment, I could still remember)
Then after the lesson we took photo first. And it’s really a funny moment. Jia Pin also spent her time doing the Money God and that earned her a pair of panda eyes!
So I wrote lyrics on whiteboard. So we asked, who aren’t gonna perform? To our surprise, the usual quite girls didn’t reject and agree to be on stage together!
Woohoo… So We had our funniest moment in the class, kept the tables n chairs aside, then with radio playing to the top of its volume we designed the steps n selected the people who gonna sing, gonna dance. Working with 5S1 for the first time gimme a serious headache because they couldn’t listen to instruction! They will only do so when we’re all practising. HS n YC designed the steps, some gave suggestion to make it a more perfect one. Lacking of time made my heart pouncing non stop, as we're rushing with time. As we’re practising in 5S1 class, teachers in hall kept on calling us for rehearsal. This made us to be more cooperative and lastly everything was done!
I remember we skipped our meals just for this. We practised under the sun at the volleyball court, to ensure perfection. Okay there’s no perfection but the more you practise, the better you'll be. Mr John had no confidence in us , well after he’s saw us dancing in front of him, he laughed and nodded his head in satisfaction, which boosted our confidence. We borrowed RM50 cash from others , to imitate Money God, Mr John lent his Red Color shirt to HS, since he was the main character… ( argh.. memories are always that wonderful… )
One by one other clubs went up to perform and imagine how nervous we’re!! Everybody comforted each other and we cheered until our turn arrived…
GoGo 5S1!
The most ‘gan jiong ‘ moment. Ok we chose the song 财神到 which meant to bring prosperity and wealth to everyone. The stage cloth was pulled down, then we quickly stood by behind the clothes. After emcees introduced us, the stage cloth was pulled up slowly, and audiences applauded! Cheers filled the entire hall and that’s thrilling! While saying and dancing, we had fun and enjoyed every second of it until the 3 minutes song finished, we sighed , “ haiz… y so fast one….”
Kah Leong posted the video to facebook. The first comment was : Unbelievable , we did it!
See? After a year like this, yes no one will remember you since u r no Jay Chou or Jolin Tsai, yet at least ,your final year in SMKTC was a memorable one and worth thinking back, a nostalgic one that left a cheerful smile on your face…
Once again really wanna thank those who showed commitment and were on the stage together that day…
OMG, writing this post made me freakin miss the days more!
