First post in 2011– Life After School

I’m now a fresh high school graduate. Mmm… sounds wonderful.

SPM. That’s already 3 weeks ago thing and now, I’m officially no more a SMKTC student.Though I know that very well, yet, I still can’t fully believe that I won’t be wearing that blue uniform that I had wore for 4 years anymore. No more school, no more crapping in the classroom, no more prefects duties, no more. Yesterday after working hours, while waiting for friend to fetch me to dinner, I stood alone at the platform bridge, with my eyes down to the speeding vehicles on the high way, my mind was wandering around the beautiful memories of high school life… I miss the classroom the most.

Well, I know very well that it’s life, a process that everyone can’t escape from and must undergo. Ok stop the emo crappy. After SPM, proudly I have to admit that, to my thrill and satisfaction, almost everyday I hanged out with friends or family members and I utilized fully my post SPM time , occupying it with loads of FUN! Woohoo…

Countdown at Look Out Point For the arrival of 2011. Firecrackers were on the dark sky , mesmerizing everyone around. People cheered at the top of their voices. Messages attacked my phone message inbox, they are all warm regards that I deeply appreciate. While firecrackers still decorating the night, instead of only enjoying the night scenery and the atmosphere, we should also realize that we are one year older already and should learn from past mistakes, to be a better one. The modern world is keeping its pace, without waiting for anybody, you may see an empty lot just in front of your house today, but the very next day maybe construction starts and a few weeks later, perhaps , without much of your realization, a newly constructed building erects firmly just before you. The speed is amazingly fast, so , after having fun , I know what should I do.

3rd of Jan. My first job at Leisure Mall Camera Shop. Being a sales assistant and sells camera at Leisure Mall from 10am-10pm? That was what I thought, initially. Later on, a senior fetched me to Axis Atrium Shopping Complex and dropped me at the branch of the camera shop there. It’s so quiet and how can I get commission by selling cameras when there' are no customers? So I absorbed the silence there, played with the cameras, cleaned the glass and that’s all. Gained nothing. Plus the basic salary was comparatively low. Giving up is the wisest choice I presume.

That night, I hesitated, and practiced how to tell the boss that I gonna quit , after working for only a single day. After about 30 min, I called, gave the stupidest reason ever, and that’s the end of my first job. (one day job) Great. I worked for the company for free for a day, at least I learnt how to operate the printing machine, and also secretly printed a photo of my family. (Now it’s nicely displayed at my house -white transparent cupboard xD)

5th Jan. I’m lucky enough to have a back-up plan. I went to an interview last month at Besta Company ( the digital dictionary) , and on 3rd Jan, I was confirmed that I was recruited! It’s on office hour. The only thing that I dislike is the colleagues are all few years older than me, hence there are difficulties in communicating with them. That’s my weakness. I can’t easily cope up with older people.

My first task was to send out some CNY greeting cards to other Besta branches. And I learnt something. Then I have to also make sure the store is clean. As you know, Besta is a company that related to education, so  the staffs often need to go to schools and do school fairs. Have to always make sure that the things for them to bring to do fair are always ready to be used. Also in charge of the pantry , make sure there is always enough drinking water. Prepare flyers, key in bills, send mails, photostat documents, do claim forms… It’s really busy but I enjoy it. Did quite a number of mistakes, luckily my boss isn’t that fierce.

What is the most interesting part? I have my own working desk and computer! It’s cool you know. I didn’t expect that. And I got a chance to go school fair this Saturday and this is added to my Good News List! Going out provides a new learning chance and I am equipping myself with more and more knowledge. And I got extra allowance for that if I’m not mistaken. Shoot 2 birds with a stone. Bingo.

One of the good things of working is that, I tend to treasure my time more. Otherwise my time will be spent much on Facebook, the silent time killer and the mini games in it.

After 12 years of studying, pre school included, it’s time to take a short rest and try something different.

A temporary job will be just nice. Smile
