3D2N in Tualang , Perak with friends

Blog is currently my collection of events and outings with friends and family. It acts as a diary , my diary. Ironically, it’s a diary where I cannot write everything I wish , everything I want , freely. Yeah I do not believe in freedom of expression anymore right now, neither should you, after case by case troubled me because of this seemingly harmless B-L-O-G.  She is right, I will not let blog to expose my weaknesses before the public anymore. ;)

So sad, huh?

Well, ditch all the craps aside. Now, with Facebook getting popular in these days, I wonder what’s the point to blog anymore. Just feel like, I’m obliged to do so. Ok lar.. blog lo then… hehe

7-9 December 2009.

If everything goes as planned, we would be at Genting , fooling around. But there were some factors that contributed to the call-off. So sad. The girls lo. All refused to go at the last moment. And no fun la going genting without girls. Also because of my financial state, though I’d just received my meagre salary after working for Sonnybiz for 5 months, ( only few hundreds for 5 months u know…) but I ended up spending it on entertainments. So we changed our plan to Tualang , Perak , Hong Seng’s hometown .

I will cut my story short from now on. ^^

7 Dec

Woke up at 6 :45 am.

Just being too happy –go-lucky and confident that I would be at the bus station before 8, I reached Pandan Jaya LRT station at 7:45 am and started getting into panic. Ohh man… bus will not wait for me leh. Hope I won’t miss the bus. Hong Seng phoned me and yelled at me for dunno-how-many-times and made me to be more guilty-stricken . Imagine all the passengers waiting for me. Fortunately, just a few minutes after 8 I arrived and rushed to the bus and managed to get onto it. . .

9:00am

Somebody requested for toilet so the bus stopped. Almost one fourth of the bus passengers got down for toilet including 4 of us. We got up to bus again after doing business, then the bus continued the journey to Perak. I started realising the 2 passengers beside me gone missing . LOL. Hong Seng told me they went to the back seats. So I just ignore their disappearance. Suddenly, we heard the bus driver grumbling and complaining to the phone. Ah ha, the 2 passengers were left behind. OMG. Their luggage were still on the bus! Perhaps , when they enjoying their time in the toilet, the bus had gone faaar faaar away. Pity them. If you were they, what would you feel?

By 10.35 am we reached Perak. OK la gonna cut it short , promise

The journey from the bus station to Hong Seng’s dad’s house took about 30 minutes. And this was our bedroom. A bedroom that was suitable for 4 .

After we all settled down, went out for lunch.

IMG_3434

Now I play my role to introduce the food in Perak to you readers. For the sake of my blog, I took out my camera from time to time when I saw spotted something new until they all beh tahan with my weird behaviour. And I have to repeat my words every time when they started grumbling : Do you know what is memory?

This is ABC – Ais Batu Campur that cost only RM 1.30 , a stall just opposite to the restaurant.

IMG_3436

For those who had been to Gua Tempurung and Hot Spring in 20th Nov , if you are not too old to lose your memory, you’d remember this restaurant. The restaurant where we had our scrumptious lunch. The ABC stall, just opposite to it.

IMG_3440

Then we dropped in on Uncle’s friend’s house and got a chance to see the masterpiece of an old man that used only one unwanted aluminium can .

It’s a peacock.

IMG_3442

Won the champion for one competition.

IMG_3443

So creative to reuse unwanted stuffs.

Later on, got to see how people bringing all the shrimps to the market to be sold. And Uncle (Hong Seng’s dad) managed to get some for free for dinner tonight.

IMG_3448

2 kissing one. Lovely pair of prawns, ready to be cooked ,tonight.

A3

Continued with our PS2 game even in such a rural area. Undeniably, we are all , addicted. haha.

A6

About 5:30 pm, we went to the playground opposite the house. 2 monkeys were like, so happy to go back to their childhood time.

IMG_3463

Too bad, due to the bad condition of weather, plus there were too many blood sucker at the playground, we got back to the house and waited until our dinner time!

Went shower after this.

IMG_3497

IMG_3492

Stupid enough right?

Dinner time. Waoh! It was like so hard to find one restaurant, thought there were more than 7 restaurants there. All the restaurants were so fully packed with people , despite the rainy night , as if they had been starving for days. Well, we ended up in one restaurant too.

IMG_3502

IMG_3503

IMG_3501

BEFORE

IMG_3505

AFTER   Lol. This dish cost only Rm 8 , believe it or

not. Provided that you bring your own

                         prawns la.

IMG_3506

This cost RM 10 . It’s a fish. Haha.

IMG_3507

Uncle was so shocked, surprised , astonished that we managed to finish the whole dish of prawns. Hoho. Donno whether I should feel proud of it.

And this is my supper.

IMG_3508

JUMBO chocolate mint. woohoo. It’s best to have this while watching movie, spending my own sweet time. Anyway, it’s somewhat too HUGE!!!

IMG_3509

I have a habit, which I wonder whether it’s good or not. I love visiting toilet no matter where I go. And this toilet, though it doesn’t look much like a toilet from this photo, is unique enough for me to shoot a photo.

OK after finish watching that movie, we went back to the house and again, it took about half an hour ride. Watched Detective Conan , the RAVEN CHASER but they were not patient enough to watch it till the end, not as passionate as me toward Conan, and went to bedroom at 2 am. Liek also shared His ‘ Custom ‘ ghost story that happened in PD with us  . And too bad, we were just too chicken to continue listening that ghost story, so we gave up. And honestly, we can’t be blamed at all, because it was very very creepy that time. Few dogs barking out there that time, you know…

8 Dec

Woke up at 8. After bathing, went out for breakfast. Took an hour ride again…. hooh….. to IPOH.

IMG_3513

IMG_3520

Custard izit? Quite nice. And I forgot how much it cost.

IMG_3522

Satay and Popia.

Satays are so special in Ipoh. The Chinese satay seller would just come to you and ask : Do you want satay?  If you answer yes, he would just give you one plate of satays , never ask you how many sticks you want. There are beef, pork, chicken and also rectums or intestines. I wonder whether we have this in KL.

Next came the Popia. Quite normal la.

When we asked the satay man to bill us, he simply counted the sticks on the table. WOW he is just so easy to trust people. I asked Uncle, what if we scam and throw some sticks onto the floor?  Uncle replied : INI BUKAN BUDAYA KITA.

Is that the answer?

IMG_3526

IMG_3523

And this is the famous Ipoh ho-fun with chicken. And I have to say, it tasted great! I am not so good in describing how nice it was but I have to highlight how good it tasted. Really.

And this simple breakfast, cost us more than RM 60.

 IMG_3531IMG_3533

The Kopitiam, crowded as usual

Our next destination – The Perak Cave. IMG_3624

IMG_3614

IMG_3553

Donated before getting up to pay a visit. I’m soooo kind :)

IMG_3557

And we began our journey. And we didn’t know there were so many flights of stairs ahead us. Hoo…

At least we have some thirst- quenching drinks … Otherwise we’re all dead!

IMG_3736

It took another 2 hours to this beach where we spent our time enjoying the sea breeze and somebody even ended up kissed by his lover. It is believable that his lover 500 years ago came back to him for a revenge …

This is how Liek got his title as jellyfish lover.

Special recommendation . This fish is awesome I tell you. I am weak in describing but anyway it’s nice. So…

IMG_3815

3 of us were good + kind enough to take a piece of fish meat for Liek. Thank him sincerely for his sacrifice. We’d never know why the jellyfish loved him so much. In fact we were all in the sea that time and not far apart from each other. Well it was destined that the jellyfish chose him . Right Choice, hmm… So it’s just a sign of gratitude.xD

IMG_3819

Esso Mobil . Let you have a chance to play . Every Rm80 purchase of petrol can exchange with a play. Uncle had 800 points so we had 10 rounds . There we go…

IMG_3822

IMG_3823

* Got 6 packets of Instant Mee, 1 Mineral Water, 1 packet of tissues and etc… Anyway, the process is more important than the prizes la. We enjoyed, we had fun. Haha

Encountered power failure when we reached home. Wow so lucky… I love being in darkness. Feel very comfortable… But not to be alone of course. Somehow, it’s *romantic* ….

IMG_3835

Went out to Mamak. Teh Api. Pernah dengar?

IMG_3838

IMG_3828

Listening to Uncle’s cold jokes while enjoying the night… A relaxing night with only insects buzzing around… coool

IMG_3839

Got to bed after 2 am. Slept at 3 ,I guess…

IMG_3854 IMG_3857

Somebody looking for a toilet and yet he refused to solve his problem here. So …

IMG_3859

This is a better place .

IMG_3867

We arrived at Anshun or Teluk Intan. People always say, when you come to Teluk Intan, must pay a visit to the local landmark – Teluk Intan Clock Tower.

292x300_2009_06_09_i603ti06

There’s a leaning tower of Pisa in Italy right? Malaysia has one too. I don’t really see it slanted. Well It is located in the centre of the town of Teluk Intan, Perak. The tower is slanted leftward similar to Tower of Pisa. It is 25.5 metres tall and from outside, it looks like a 8 storey building. In actual fact, you will find out as you go inside that the building is divided into 3 storeys.

I think you can see how slanted it is from this picture above. I copied it from internet.

IMG_3869

Require our signatures to get into the leaning tower. Sedang buat perjamjian dgn pihak Inggeris. Haha

IMG_3875

It’s so empty up there and nothing to be viewed .

IMG_3878

The board that explain the details of this historical building. It was originally used as a water tank to store portable water during dry season for the people living nearby. It is also used as a time keeper of the town as there is a huge clock on top of the tower.

IMG_3900

Our lunch , the LAST MEAL before getting back to KL. It’s known as 刀麻切 , but it’s actually equivalent to 板面 in KL la.

Went back home to pack everything up. Still have some time and I took the opportunity to go out for a walk, enjoying the air in this kampung while they continued with their PS2 games.

3 pm . We left Tualang , the place where we spent 3D2N here . With heavy hearts we left, of course never forget to thank Uncle for bringing us to various destinations and made our trip a fun, memorable and meaningful one. Bye Tualang, see you next year if we got a chance. ;)

Used RM 65 for 3D2N . Worth it, isn’t it?
