Few days before my resignation day, I couldn’t help feel excited when I began to imagine how am I going to spend my holiday before my school starts. Yes . I planned trips to Perak, Genting , and even Malacca. Sounds amazing.
That’s my working place.
But when the time comes, the reluctance to leave made me a little emotional, especially when I just started to mix around with my colleagues, out together for tea , crapped during working hours, cracked cold jokes that actually warmed up the dull working atmosphere.
The delicious Vietnam food.
The supervisor and colleagues in Besta were really good in treating people, especially small kid like me. (I’m small in their eyes). They celebrated my Birthday at a hotpot restaurant. And just before I left, Malay colleagues brought me to Kenny Rogers, my supervisor and Boss treated me seafood steamboat, and my colleagues rejected my treat and decided to take me to Vietnam restaurant as my farewell lunch. And all these food, no doubts, successfully contributed to my gain in weight. And they are costly too.
Colleagues in Besta.
Working taught me a lot. It cruelly exposed myself to have a good view of all my weaknesses. My carelessness was one.It forced me to learn how to face the consequences with a positive attitude when I did something wrong. Also,I saw the systematic operating system of a company. I joined meetings and learnt how to be a good speaker that gives a good impact to employees. Just after 3 months, I witnessed my sudden improvement in management. I learnt how to use the computer better. I knew how to plan so time is not wasted. I know how to deal with different people while doing sales in schools!
First time to Pulau Ketam. Besta brought me there.
In conclusion, working indeed develops my personal growth and I assume that I will cope up with my works more easily in the future. Have to really thank my supervisor for being a good example and taught me a lot of stuff, including a good , clear presentation of work to set up of good impression of your own.
Pulau Ketam breathtaking scenery
Anyway, you will never imagine how thrilled was I in sight of the money in my bank account for the first month! Since we’re young, we always ask for money easily from our parents, never knowing that how hard they earned it at the expense of their time, energy , or even health. When you got your own money, you make a second thought on the things you want to buy. That makes a distinct difference, between the basic needs and the luxuries. (But I will never be thrifty when comes to travelling xD )
See how I messed up the meeting room
Owning purchasing power is fun. That means I got financial freedom and I do not need to get a nod from my parents temporarily whenever I want to buy something for myself. By owning purchasing power, shopping isn’t that bored compared to the past. I hated shopping last time for I knew I’m not able to pay for the goods. I got cash in hand now so I can spend. And I realise how good is it to have A LOT OF MONEY. With the little pennies I have now, I am restricted to only a few choices. That means I have to work more to get more money, so I get to buy things I want. It means that by only having enough knowledge, only I can have a higher qualification to get a better job, so I get more money.
After working, it makes me realise the importance of study better. Have a strong eagerness to get back to school right now. Yes . Money isn’t everything, but the importance of money remains unquestionable.
Doing promotion in school.
Thank Besta for exposing me to all the things I have never even encountered before. I admit that I was a little reluctant to go at the moment I removed my tag, giving back the key and the company mobile phone. But I will think I will never back to Besta for part time job again though I had my happy 3 months there. I am still young and will try different things in the future. More challenges await me and I believe there are still a lot more for me to explore.
